Founded in 1649, Annapolis, Maryland is steeped in colonial history and has some of the best samples of 17th and 18th Century dwellings in the States. Ride along the brick sidewalks and imagine yourself transported back to the times when George Washington or Thomas Jefferson strolled these streets when Annapolis held title as the Capital of the United States.

Annapolis also hosts the United States Naval Academy and St. John's College, alma mater of Francis Scott Key.

For those who prefer something more progressive, Annapolis city dock is spectacular and there are many shops and restaurants to frequent.

Explore the historic district of Annapolis on this daily one and half hour Safari including:

• State House - historic for the signing of the Treaty of Paris and Washington's resignation from the Continental Army

• St Anne's Parish - with stunning Tiffany designed leadlight windows

• City Dock - home to the famous MRE tug of war and the disembarkation port of Alex Haley's ancestor Kunta Kinte

Other sites visited include; the Brice House, Chase-Lloyd House, Hammond-Harwood House, Ogle Hall, Sands House, Pinkney Street, Market House, Shiplap House, Paca House, and the Banneker Douglas Museum. Exact routes are dependent on participants interests, time available and street openings.
